Professional Responsibility
To the parents and families of my students I pledge to follow the Florida Principles of Ethical Conduct for the Education Profession to ensure that the personal and academic growth of my students is supported in a safe learning environment.

Using Professional Conduct in my Classroom
In my classroom discrimination in any form will not be tolerated because it can make the learning environment unsafe for my students. To deal with discrimination I will create a curriculum that educates my students on different types of people around the world. By doing this I will create a classroom with an environment of open minded students. This is will prevent discrimination between students.
Harassment can take on a number of different forms. As a result I believe it is incredibly important to teach my students how to recognize and report different instances of harassment. Students will be able to report harassment while keeping their identities a secret to ensure their safety. All instances of harassment will be brought up to administration to ensure further action is taken to ensure student safety.
In my classroom any instance of bullying will not be tolerated. Occurrences of bullying will be reported to counseling to ensure further action is taken to ensure the safety of the student. To prevent bullying in my classroom I will teach my students the steps to having Critical Conversations in doing this I will equip my students with the skills to deal with many different conflicts both inside and outside of the classroom.

Suspected Child Abuse
As an educator one of my duties is to be a mandated reporter for my students. This means that I am responsible for reporting any signs of potential child abuse and/or neglect cases. If I suspect that a student is being abused and/or neglected I will take any information I have about the matter and report it to the child abuse hotline. From there the matter will be handled primarily through Child Protective Services. I will report any suspicions of child abuse to ensure that I can provide the child a voice.
