The Morning Meeting
In my class we start every day by conducting a morning meeting. A morning meeting provides students a chance to socialize with all the peers in their class while in a safe structured environment. The reason that we use morning meetings in our class is because it strengthens our sense of community as a class by creating bonds among those in our class. Having morning meetings encourages students to talk to those outside of their friend group. They can also be a good preview to the lessons for the day.

Morning Greeting
We use our morning greeting to start off our morning meeting. During the greeting the children take the time to address their fellow peers in a simple greeting. By doing the greeting first we set a positive tone for the day and gain a sense of belonging in our classroom community.
