When it comes to assessing your child teachers need the help of the families to ensure their success when it comes to test days. In my classroom I plan to use my assessments to measure the understanding of my students across different content areas.
One way that families can help their children's success is by creating an environment at home where the child is less pressured to ensure a perfect performance in class. In my class assessments will not be used to determine the grade of the child so it is important that I see where the child is, especially if they are struggling. The results of the assessments will be used to determine the content of my future lesson plans so that they meet the needs of the student.
Tips For Test Day
Make sure that you get a good nights sleep the night before test day so you come into class alert.
Eat a well balanced breakfast in the morning so that do not get hungry during the test!
Follow the test directions VERY carefully to ensure that you are not doing something wrong.
Take your time to answer every question you can. Tests are not a race of who finishes first.
Relax. Breathe. You will be okay. It is okay to be nervous.
